{"id":751,"date":"2014-07-23T07:47:03","date_gmt":"2014-07-23T07:47:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.lnetdev.uk\/thevra2026\/?p=751"},"modified":"2014-07-23T07:47:03","modified_gmt":"2014-07-23T07:47:03","slug":"motorists-give-thumbs-black-boxes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.lnetdev.uk\/thevra2026\/motorists-give-thumbs-black-boxes\/","title":{"rendered":"Motorists give thumbs down to black boxes"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"artSummary\">The overwhelming majority of motorists are against EU plans to introduce \u201cblack box\u201d technology in cars according to a new poll by Motorpoint.<\/div>\n<div class=\"articleBody\">\n<p>A web-based survey of 2,000 people by the car supermarket found 71.5% per cent of drivers opposed regulations that will see black boxes built into all new cars from October 2015 to monitor individual\u2019s speed as well as driving habit.<\/p>\n<p>The telematics technology would keep track of how fast their customers drive, how hard they brake and how many journeys a year they take, based on the eCall system to track crashed vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who refuses to have a black box fitted retrospectively to an existing vehicle could see a spike in their insurance premiums as a result.
