Top three UK leasing firm Alphabet has won a joint contract to supply user-chooser contract hire cars for the London Fire Brigade, along with Lex Autolease and Days Contract Hire.<\/p>\n
The deal includes maintaining the vehicles, and follows a selection process overseen by private sector contracting giant Capita Asset Services.<\/p>\n
Currently, the London Fire Brigade runs around 200 cars, and the incoming Alphabet-managed vehicles will all be fitted with blue lights and sirens.<\/p>\n
None of these cars will emit more than 120g\/km of CO2. The London Fire Brigade has a 7000-strong head count.<\/p>\n
“We’re absolutely delighted with this contract win, which is testament to the continuing commitment we’ve demonstrated to the public sector over a 20-year period,” said Alphabet head of public service sector Clive Buhagiar.<\/p>\n
Part of the BMW Group, Alphabet operates a total of 500,000 vehicles in 19 countries, of which 121,000 are based in Britain.<\/p>\n
As part of a broader UK expansion programme, the company has also increased its head count by taking on Rob Lewis, Leanne Cheshire and Jane Goodwin as account managers.<\/p>\n
