{"id":2441,"date":"2015-09-04T10:03:32","date_gmt":"2015-09-04T10:03:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.lnetdev.uk\/thevra2026\/?p=2441"},"modified":"2015-09-04T10:03:32","modified_gmt":"2015-09-04T10:03:32","slug":"july-used-car-trade-sales-12-2-says-nama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.lnetdev.uk\/thevra2026\/july-used-car-trade-sales-12-2-says-nama\/","title":{"rendered":"July used car trade sales up 12.2%, says NAMA"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-ads-body-copy=\"true\" data-ads-first=\"2\" data-ads-every=\"3\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sales of used cars at auction in July increased by 12.2% year on year and conversion levels rose to 80% from 73% in the preceding month.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The figures from the National Association of Motor Auctions (NAMA) members \u201creflect strong levels of trade buyer activity\u201d, particularly among the smaller and medium sized franchised and independent dealers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cMany of the larger groups are fulfilling their used vehicle stocking needs through their own stock remarketing and part-exchange activities. This underlines the strength of demand in the market place right now,\u201d said Louise Wallis at NAMA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While new car volumes have benefitted from increasing levels of fleet activity, the used car sector is dominated by the private buyer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The success of PCPs has clearly seen some traditional used car buyers convert to a new car, which makes the levels of demand being seen in market even more encouraging, Wallis said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRising confidence by consumers in their personal finances is clearly a major factor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe latest GfK Confidence Index (July 31st) saw finance confidence increase by 15 points and the forecast is for this to keep improving. It is a position supported by rising demand for unsecured loans and dealer finance reported by both the Finance and Leasing Association and BBA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cConfidence, especially in financial matters is central to car sales.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAfter a long extended period of financial austerity consumers and dealers are re-discovering a level of access to funding and the confidence to use it.
