{"id":1746,"date":"2015-03-13T12:19:47","date_gmt":"2015-03-13T12:19:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.lnetdev.uk\/thevra2026\/?p=1746"},"modified":"2015-03-13T12:19:47","modified_gmt":"2015-03-13T12:19:47","slug":"government-fleet-takes-140-plug-vehicles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.lnetdev.uk\/thevra2026\/government-fleet-takes-140-plug-vehicles\/","title":{"rendered":"Government fleet takes on 140 plug-in vehicles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Department for Transport has announced that 140 plug-in vehicles will be joining the Government fleet across 15 departments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The DfT said the additions are part of a \u00a35 million investment to reduce emissions. The fleets include cars and vans used by the Government when transporting staff and equipment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Government Car Service which provides cars for ministers will also adopt four ULEVs.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ArticleAdvert\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0A DfT spokesman said: &#8220;The most common cars include a number of Priuses, Nissan Leafs and Mitshubishi Outlanders. The rollout also includes a few Kia Soul and Volvo V60 hybrid and others.&#8221;<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The announcement is the first phase of a project designed to illustrate the effectiveness of the vehicles and to encourage fleets to take up ULEV vehicles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Part of the investment will be used to fund take-up by the wider public sector &#8211; including the NHS, police forces and local councils &#8211; and pay for charging points so the vehicles can be charged while at work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;This is an important step.
