It said registrations would grow this year but a \u201cconsiderably slower\u201d pace than 2014.<\/p>\n
The European Automobile Manufacturers\u2019 Association (ACEA) said registrations will rise 2% in 2015 to 13 million units compared to the 5.7% growth achieved in 2014.<\/p>\n
Last year\u2019s 12.6 million unit performance in Europe was skewed by a strong performance in the UK with low interest rates and strong finance offers and a scrappage scheme in Spain.<\/p>\n
Acea was positive about th e2014 performance but urged caution over propsects for 2015.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is significant because it was the EU\u2019s first positive annual result since the financial crisis began in 2007, with December marking the 16th consecutive month of growth,\u201d said ACEA President, Carlos Ghosh.<\/p>\n
\u201cHowever, our optimism about this early sign of recovery must be tempered with caution, given the economic uncertainties still facing many countries.\u201d<\/p>\n
Acea released figures on electrically chargeable vehicles (ECVs). \u00a0Last year sales of ECVs rose 37% to 75,331 ECVs, which represents just 0.6% of the total market.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
