Stock shortages affecting the used car and van markets will be the subject of the sixth in the Vehicle Remarketing Association (VRA)\u2019s New Normal Briefing series of webinars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
David Bailey, professor of business economics at the University of Birmingham\u2019s Business School will open the presentations, explaining how the semiconductor shortage, Brexit and the pandemic have affected new vehicle supply. The sixth New Normal Briefing will be at 10 am on Thursday 17 June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There will then be a panel discussion about how this is feeding through into stock shortages in the used sector featuring Rupert Pontin, VRA deputy chair and director of insight, Cazana; Derren Martin, head of valuations, cap hpi and Jon Davies, brand partnership director, AutoTrader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Philip Nothard, chair at the VRA, said: \u201cStock shortages and the myriad issues that they create are shaping up to be the biggest problem facing the remarketing sector this year, so this is a timely webinar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWith the help of our speakers, we\u2019ll be looking at the roots of the current situation, how it is likely to develop over the course of the year, and possible solutions that will help remarketing companies make appropriate plans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The VRA\u2019s New Normal Briefings have been created to provide members with essential information and guidance as the industry and the general economy begin to emerge from the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They take place on the third Thursday of every month and it is planned that they will continue until later in 2021, when it is hoped that the VRA will be able to resume at least some face-to-face meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
