New issues arising as the used vehicle sector emerges from the pandemic is the theme of the fifth in the Vehicle Remarketing Association (VRA)\u2019s New Normal Briefing series of webinars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Called \u201cGetting Back to Business\u201d and being held at 10am on Thursday 20th<\/sup> May, speakers will include Steve Young, managing director at ICDP, and Chris Hine and Robert Marchant, both partners at the accountancy firm Crowe UK LLP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Steve will look at trends such as the impact of the growth of personal leasing, greater scale and professionalism in used car operations, and the move from franchise to agency models for motor manufacturers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Chris and Robert will present on the VAT and commercial disputes issues associated with early termination and breaches of contracts. The current treatment of these is unclear and creating problems because, with changing working and leisure habits, some organisations are looking to terminate leases and other contracts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Philip Nothard, chair at the VRA, said: \u201cAs businesses start to return to something resembling normality, we\u2019re starting to get a more defined idea of the most important new issues that are emerging in the remarketing space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis webinar is designed to help our members gain an understanding of some of the most immediate, providing them with the information they need to take account of these developments in their future business plans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The VRA\u2019s New Normal Briefings have been created to provide members with essential information and guidance as the industry and the general economy begin to emerge from the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They take place on the third Thursday of every month and it is planned that they will continue until at least the summer, when it is hoped that the VRA will be able to resume at least some face-to-face meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n More information about the briefings and joining the VRA can be obtained by emailing info@thevra.co.uk.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
