A new webinar series designed to help the remarketing sector prepare for the end of the pandemic has been announced by the Vehicle Remarketing Association<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Called \u201cThe New Normal Briefing,\u201d they start at 10 am on Thursday 21 January with a discussion on the implications of the Brexit deal and how it is likely to impact on everything from customs processes through to the future of the UK motor industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The speakers will include well-known Brexit expert David Bailey, professor of business economics at the University of Birmingham\u2019s Business School, alongside Glyn Edwards, VAT director at MHA McIntyre Hudson and Andrew Thurston, customs duty consultant at MHA McIntyre Hudson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sam Watkins, chair at the VRA, said: \u201cWhile it is fatiguing to find ourselves once again under lockdown, the fact is that the remarketing sector now knows how to operate in these conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe question now, with the vaccination programme underway, is what the remarketing sector will look like after the pandemic has begun to subside? What will the new normal look like?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe webinars we are planning will look at all kinds of areas of remarketing and the shape they are likely to take over the next few months and years. It\u2019s an essential area and will help VRA members to plan for an uncertain future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The New Normal Briefings will take place on the third Thursday of every month for at least the first six months of the year when it is hoped that the VRA will be able to hold at least some face-to-face meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sam said: \u201cOur AGM takes place in July and the hope is that we\u2019ll be able to get together at that point. Obviously, however, there is a whole range of factors that could affect that possibility.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
