{"id":1131,"date":"2014-10-24T08:50:03","date_gmt":"2014-10-24T08:50:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.lnetdev.uk\/thevra2026\/?p=1131"},"modified":"2014-10-24T08:50:03","modified_gmt":"2014-10-24T08:50:03","slug":"bca-scraps-float-plans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.lnetdev.uk\/thevra2026\/bca-scraps-float-plans\/","title":{"rendered":"BCA scraps float plans"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"text_image\">\n<p><strong>BCA Marketplace has stopped plans for an initial public offering.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It blames the decision to scrap the float it had planned for November on the\u00a0instability of global markets.<\/p>\n<p>BCA had hoped to raise at least \u00a3200 million in the listing.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement the company said: &#8216;Given the volatility in global equity markets, the board and shareholders of BCA Marketplace have chosen not to proceed with its initial public offering at this time.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The board and shareholders were very encouraged by the broad engagement and interest in BCA shown by investors and remain excited about supporting the next phase of the Group&#8217;s growth.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Clayton, Dubilier &amp; Rice, BCA\u2019s American private equity owners, bought the company in 2010 in a deal that valued it at about \u00a3400m, including debt. It owns 70% of the company, with management the rest.<\/p>\n<p>The auctioneer was listed until 1987, when it was sold to Lord Ashcroft\u2019s ADT conglomerate.
